Livewell undergoes transformation

“It’s more faith than fate,” says Dr. Crystal Longo of Livewell when explaining how Roy Schabauer of Artisan General Contracting became her general contractor.

Last November when Longo was about to begin renovations on her newly acquired property on Duke St. her contractor suddenly became overbooked and wanted to delay work for two months.

Sitting at the reception desk in the building she rented at the corner of Main and Duke streets, Longo wondered about the likelihood of locating a contractor who could begin work immediately and be finished by her February deadline. In walked her former neighbour Roy Schabauer, a contractor with more than 30 years experience, who was between contracts and looking for a project. It was perfect timing.

Work began almost immediately and anyone who visited the site when it was a window and door store will not recognize the place when it opens for business on Feb. 1.

The renovations have resulted in a brighter, more inviting place for clients to exercise and heal. With two treatment rooms, a full gym, saunas and showers, the energetic and committed Longos will be able to offer their clients full physical recovery and rehab facilities.

Crystal Longo became a chiropractor in 2002 and received her rehabilitation fellowship in 2009. Chris Longo has been a personal trainer for more than 10 years. Together they offer chiropractic treatments, full physical rehabilitation, exercise classes, specialized sports programs and, with the help of two registered therapists, massage therapy.

Gerry Brown, who suffered a serious tear to his Achilles tendon last fall, can’t say enough good things about the rehabilitation treatment he has received from Livewell. “They are bringing me back to life,” says Brown, who in November could not even walk around the block.
